Visit the Royal Air Force Museum Cosford this October half term and take part in the hunt for our missing mascot. Percy the Penguin, an RAF airman’s flying mascot, has disappeared from his display case in search of a “cooler” home.
Percy has left some clues to help us find him but we need bright young detectives to help solve the clues and find out where he is hiding. To take part, simply collect an entry form at Admissions on arrival at the Museum.
The entire experience is completely FREE and as a reward for solving the clues there will be a small prize for every successful detective to take home as a memento of the day. All correct entries will also be entered into a draw to win a £15 voucher to spend in the Royal Air Force Museum Shop.

Members of the public are invited to join the Aerospace Museum Society’s popular 1940’s Hangar Dance at the Royal Air Force Museum, Cosford on Saturday 4th October.
The event will be located in the Museum’s Warplanes Hangar with guests encouraged to “Get in the Mood” by donning wartime costume for the evening. Dancing will be until late with music supplied by Paul Drakeley and his All Stars Band and Singers, performing tracks from Big Band favourites such as Glenn Miller and Artie Shaw. To further add to the event’s ambience the entire evening is set against a backdrop of wartime aircraft and artifacts including the world’s oldest Spitfire and the famous Lincoln Bomber.
Please note as this is going to be our biggest and best dance yet, we will be closing our Warplanes Hangar from Monday 29th September to Wednesday 8th October. We apologise for any disappointment that this may cause for our daytime visitors during this period.

The Royal Air Force Museum Cosford and its award winning National Cold War Exhibition received a 10 out of 10 rating in Central TV’s News ‘Best Value Kids Attraction' as seen by viewers on 12th August.
The Museum was particularly praised for being “dynamic”. ITV Central presenter Llewela Bailey and her son Harry were “bowled over” by the National Cold War Exhibition, which is “brilliantly put together” so much so that after spending just a few hours at the Museum they felt visitors needed more than a single day at the Museum as there was so much to take in.
